Raymond E. Knapp, age 92 and a resident of Wiggins, died on Thursday, December 20, 2012, in Wiggins.
Mr. Knapp served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had been a resident of Gulfport since 1945, and after retiring from the Harrison County Sand Beach Dept., he resided in Magee for a number of years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel V. Sullivan Knapp; his parents, Robert & Iva Long Knapp and a sister, Myrrel Hand.
Mr. Knapp is survived by his daughters, Donna (Tony) Lamberg of Wiggins and Sheral Cooke of Gulfport; his sister, Ruth Eden of Wiggins; his grandchildren, Dana Isaacson of Virginia, Sherrie (Dalton) Seymour of Gulfport, Kylene Lamberg of Biloxi, and Lindsey Parker of Wiggins; five great-grandchildren, and his loving canine companion, Rusty.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012, from 10am until 11am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. A graveside service will follow at 11:15am at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
