Ranelle K. Hiley

Ranelle ""Nell"" K. Hiley, age 86, passed away November 5, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents D.J. and Theo Kendrick; her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas Hiley, Sr., U.S. Army.
A beloved mother, grandmother and friend, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hiley Robinson; her son, James K. Hiley; a granddaughter and three grandsons.
Mrs. Hiley graduated high school at the age of 16 and attended college until the age of 18 when she was accepted into the RN program at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA.
Mrs. Hiley was a military wife, a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, she was also a registered nurse, a college instructor, director of nursing, a hospital administrator, a longtime advocate for the elderly and friend and mentor to many.
Following her husband's retirement from the military, they moved to Ft. Walton Beach, FL and then to Gulfport, MS to care for her aging parents.
For 37 years Ms. Hiley worked with Mr. Connor Cain and his son Mr. Brian Cain in the care and advocacy of the elderly, she continued her work until her brief illness and passing.
The family would like to thank the caring and supportive staff at One Magnolia Place Assisted Living Facility and Canon Hospice for their care and compassion.
Our mother had a true love for animals. The family request that donations be made in her memory to The Humane Society of South MS in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 12 - 2 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. An online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com
