Ralph G. West, 82, of McHenry, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg.
Mr. West was a native of Shubuta, MS, a former resident of Long Beach and currently in McHenry. Mr. West retired as a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam and Korea. He served as a Meteorologist in the U.S.A.F. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie S. and Mary Pugh West; his siblings, Edith Davis, Charlie D. West, Helen Snelgrove and Homer Stanley; and his beloved dog, Sam.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Joan West Hirsch; niece, Rachel West Mahone; niece, Mary Anne Walker; niece, Carolyn Shirley; grand-niece, Samantha Dickinson; niece, Lenda Dragoman; nephew, Mark Snelgrove and other loving grand-nieces and nephews.
Mr. West was loved dearly by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.
