Phyllis Ann Ingram

Phyllis Ann Ingram, age 73, a resident of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 in Gulfport, MS.
Phyllis attended the Gulfport City Schools. After graduating from high school, she attended Perkinston Junior College in Perkinston, MS. She continued her education at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Later, Phyllis received her Master of Education degree from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. While teaching, Phyllis was honored by receiving a Gulfport Teacher of the Quarter plaque. After teaching thirty-six years in elementary education, Phyllis retired from the Gulfport School District in 2000.
She was an avid Saints fan, and she attended many Saints home games with friends. Phyllis also enjoyed Saints parties in Gulfport for the away games. After her health began to fail, she would watch the Saints games on television.
Phyllis was always willing to help those in need with food and other items. She loved her pet cats and royally cared for them over the years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Ingram.
She is survived by one brother, Gene (Jo) Ingram of Jackson, MS; two nephews, Richard (Lisa) Ingram of Vicksburg, MS and James (Laura) Ingram of Asheville, NC; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 2:00 PM until the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
