Phyllis Ann Vaughn Thomason

Phyllis Ann Vaughn Thomason, age 78, of Ocean Springs, passed away on May 2, 2025.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Macon, MS and raised in Scooba and graduated from high school in DeKalb. She loved shopping, crossword puzzles, watching movies, and going out to eat. She loved spending time with and taking care of her family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Mamie Lois Smith Vaughn; brother-in-law, Millard Austin; and nephew, Ray Austin.

She is survived by her children, Phil Thomason (Tracie) of Oak Grove, LA, and Carol Thomason (Candy) of Ocean Springs; siblings, Alice Jones (Paul), Sue Austin, and Becky Temkovits (Charlie); grandchildren, Cade Thomason, Drew Thomason, Lacey Puzz Black (Phil), and Jordan Puzz (Jessica); and 5 great grandchildren, Kinsley Black, Liam Puzz, Saylor Puzz, Ash Thomason, and Jett Black; and a special friend, Gloria Welch.

Pallbearers will be Cade Thomason, Jordan Puzz, Phil Black, Mike Warren, Kenny Wayne Warren, and Chip Temkovits.

Funeral services will be held at Binnsville United Methodist Church, 56 White Horse Road, Scooba, MS at 12:00pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery following services.
