Phil Wayne McLendon, age 59, a longtime resident of Gulfport and current resident of Wiggins, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Payne; and his sister, Karen Bottin.
Phil is survived by his father, Woodrow M. Payne; his three children, Bonnie Sims of Dallas, TX, Jasen McLendon of Sedalia, MO, and Amanda Sharrow of Virginia Beach, VA; his five siblings, William Franklin McLendon, Jr., Vickie Rhodes, Bobby Joe McLendon, Pam Swilley, and Michael Payne; and his grandchildren, Preston Sims, Savannah McLendon, Sarabeth McLendon, and Pennelope Sharrow.
Phil was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Class of 1975, and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 27 years of service. He was a devoted father, enjoyed fishing and deer hunting and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 3:30 p.m.
