Percy Elwin Horton, age 81, and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.
Mr. Horton served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Chief Petty Officer and from the Civil Service as a Maintenance Foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sharing has garden with friends and family. He spent his last years devoted to and taking care of his wife, the love of his life. He was of Baptist faith.
Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson and Eula Lee Horton; and his brothers. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary G. Horton, of Gulfport; children, Charles G. Horton (Dollie), of Austin, TX, Pamela L. Goodman (Bob), of Gulfport, and Lori A. Speer, of Gulfport; 4 grandchildren, Bryan and Michael Horton, Sean Graham (Janelle), and Kelly Speer; and 2 great grandchildren, Devin and Mason Graham of Bay St. Louis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 9am until 10am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. Funeral service will be held at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hill Memorial Gardens.
