Peggy Sue Sturdivant

Peggy Sue Sturdivant, age 81, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Gulfport.

Peggy was born in Monticello, Mississippi, and was a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a devoted educator who dedicated her life to teaching and serving others. Peggy proudly earned her Master’s Degree in Education and spent 24 years with the Harrison County School District. She also served as a teacher with the Catholic Diocese, including St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, for an additional 10 years. Her passion for education and faith left a lasting impact on the many students and families she touched throughout her career.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.H. and Maudie Miller; her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Sturdivant; her son, David Boggs; and her brother, Richard Miller.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Diane Jones (Marty); her siblings, Jack Miller (Jan), Pat Miller (Linda), Dennis Miller (Cheryl), and Martha Hackney (Rick); her grandchildren, Cristen Gunter (Todd), Blake Boggs (Kaitlyn), Aaron Boggs (Sarah), Jordan Jones (Kaitlyn), Braxton Jones, Brennan Jones, Joel Jones, and Syerra Boggs; her great-grandchildren, Amanda Gunter (Justin), Nolyn Gunter, Aria Boggs, and Eliana Jones; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kameron Gunter and Amara Gunter. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Peggy went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior after a short illness, surrounded by those who loved her.

Visitation will be held at Harbor City Church, 16121 Lorraine Road, Biloxi, Mississippi 39532, on Monday, February 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will take place immediately following the service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 8910 Carl Legett Road, Gulfport, Mississippi 39503.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School.
