Peggy A. Ladner, age 89, of Kiln, MS, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Gulfport, MS.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, J. Larry Ladner; her parents, Walton Willoughby and Sarah Dandisge Willoughby; and her siblings, Gaye Willoughby and Wayne Willoughby.
Mr. Ladner is survived by her children, Pam Ladner Phipps (Larry), Gatlinburg, TN, Kimberly Ann Ladner, Kiln, MS, Jay Larry Ladner (Jennifer), Hattiesburg, MS, and Stewart Dean Ladner (Angie); a sister, Dorothy Durham Ross (Huck), Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea Caveny Lewis (Ben), Jackson, MS, Jackson Luke Ladner (Mathilde), Metairie, LA, London Brooke Ladner, and Parris Jade Ladner; 2 great-grandchildren, James Collier Lewis and Anne Caveny Lewis, both of Jackson, MS; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ladner was a native of Poplarville, MS and was a long time resident of Hattiesburg and Kiln. She was a 1954 graduate of Poplarville High School and a 1957 graduate of Pearl River Community College. She worked as an office manager at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1972 – 1996.
She dedicated a lifetime of support to her husband and his career in sports while raising 4 children. She was a faithful and active member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Kiln, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the Coach and Mrs. J. Larry Ladner Scholarship at St. Stanislaus College, 304 S Beach Blvd, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10 - 11 am at Annunciation Catholic Church, 5370 Kiln DeLisle Rd, Kiln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Bayou CoCo Cemetery.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Pass Christian, is serving the family.
