Obituary

Pearle Alley Hoda, a dedicated Teacher's Aide for Hancock County Schools, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, in Picayune, Mississippi. She was born on June 27, 1943, in Honduras and came to the United States in her early twenties, where she obtained her U. S. Citizenship and built a life centered on family and faith.

Pearle was a woman who found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading and engaging in crossword puzzles, which kept her mind sharp and curious. She was a devoted fan of Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs, often cheering for the team with great enthusiasm. Above all, Pearle took deep pride in raising her family and keeping a daily prayer journal, a personal ritual that reflected her heartfelt spirituality.

Her early years were shaped by the memories of her parents, Hewitt and Hope Alley, and her siblings, Dixie Bates, David Alley, Steve Alley, and Rita Alley, all of whom have passed on. Despite these losses, Pearle's life was rich with love and connection. She is survived by cherished family and friends who remember her fondly. Among them are Jan "Yogi" Duplantis (Jill), Meri Blankenship (Tommy), Dan Duplantis (Debbie), and Ginger Cuevas (Dyron). Her legacy also lives on through her stepdaughter, Robin Firmin.

Pearle was a proud grandmother to Nick, Shane, Erica, Megan, and Dane Duplantis; Destin and Derrick Guillot; Mackenzie Whitfield; Aubrie Cuevas; and Ashley, Krystal, and Shelby Blankenship. She also delighted in the company of 16 great-grandchildren, who brought her much happiness.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 6th at 11 AM, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at the church's niche.
