Pauline Brown Smith was born on November 19, 1913 in Seward County, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willis and Amy Brown; brother Bernard Brown; and husband Harold Smith.
She is survived by her three children, Ronald Smith (Rosela) of Rockville, MD, Norman Smith (Vicenta) of Birmingham, AL, and Marcia Wilson (Roy) of Gulfport; and her six grandchildren, Hilary Wheeler-Smith, Ryan Smith, Amy Wilson Smith, Karen Wilson, Aaron Smith, and Andrew Smith.
Pauline was raised on her family farm outside of Utica, Nebraska. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she met her husband of 59 years, and they married on June 9, 1937. They moved to Bayou View in 1958 when her husband was transferred to Keesler Air Force Base. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She participated in Each One Teach One project, where she taught adults to read. Her hobbies included square dancing with the Star Twirlers, playing the piano, and traveling.
Pauline was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Gulfport, where over the years she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, participated in women's ministries, and was a faithful member of the Wesley Class.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014, visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
