Paul Anthony Michel, age 62, of Diamondhead, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Michel, Sr. and Marie Giarrusso Michel, a brother, Bruce Michel and a sister, Irene Michel McLaughlin.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Schabel Michel, his children, Jennifer Milligan (Darrell), Paul Michel, Jr. (Stacey), Kassandra Michel, Kelly Breaux (Scott), Kristin Collard (Michael), Bethaney LaCoste (Zach), and Brittney Michel (Noah), 16 grandchildren, Brooke, Summer, Jason, Lyric, Noah, Raelynn, Hailie, Aubrey, Zeb, Collin, Daniel, Zach, Rayne, McKenzie, Timothy, and Paul, and 1 great grandchild, Wilson, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Michel served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He later retired from the Department of U.S. Customs serving as a Port Director. He was a man of God and was devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time at the beach, and he served as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. He was our HERO!
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. The funeral service will be at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
