Patty S. Pugh, age 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 8, 2026.
Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was her family. She shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, David Pugh Sr. Her loving and caring nature extended beyond her own children, as she opened her heart to many others who lovingly called her “Mom.”
Patty found happiness in the simple things in life. She enjoyed sewing and crafting, planting flowers, and spending time with those she loved. She especially enjoyed eating crab legs. Patty was also a woman of faith who embraced holiness and carried that faith throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emmitt Allen Prestwood; her mother, Hearl Marie Prestwood; her brothers, Butch Prestwood and Clayton Prestwood; and her sister, Laurie Mitchell.
Patty is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, David Pugh Sr.; her children, Tony Pugh (Amanda), Brandy Welch (James), David Pugh Jr., and Adrian Early; and the many others she welcomed into her life who called her Mom.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kylie Pugh, Morgan Pugh, Matthew Newbury, Nickali Welsh, Charlotte Welsh, Charlie Early, and Tyler Morgan; her sister, Marie Patecek; her godsons, Eddie Patecek and Billy Mitchell Jr.; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Funeral service arrangements are pending and will be announced once finalized.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to New Orleans Children’s Hospital in Patty’s memory.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is honored to serve the Pugh family.
