Patricia Ruth Smart, age 84, a resident of Long Beach, MS for 49 years, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2018.
Patricia was born November 8, 1933 in Crisfield, Maryland to Margaret Tull and Bernard Taylor. She graduated High School in Pokomoke, MD.
On January 26, 1955 in Ocean City, Maryland she was married to Leonard Mott Smart, a Navy SeaBee of Birmingham, AL. They had 4 children together.
She began her career as a clerk/ typist for the Birdseye plant in Pocomoke City, Maryland. She worked at Sears in downtown Gulfport, and then took a job with the MS State Dept. of Public Welfare which she retired after 25 years of service.
She was preceded to Heaven by, Leonard Smart; her parents Margaret "Tull" Taylor and Bernard Taylor; paternal grandparents: James and Minnie Taylor; maternal grandparents: Gorman and Iva Tull.
She is survived by her children, Susan Grantham Jr (Troy), Cindy Carrubba (Chris), David Smart (Stephanie Rosetti), and Steven Smart; grandchildren, Josh Anderson (Cortnie), Rachel Magee (Shea), Christopher Carrubba (Livia); her only great-grandchild, Samuel Anderson; her only sibling Linda Johnson (Lynn); and her long time, very good friend, Fred Bilbo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11 AM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Unity Pastor Judy Voght will deliver Patricia's eulogy. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
