Long Beach, MS

Patricia Ann Slocum, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Long Beach, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 11, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Patricia was a cherished member of her community and a dedicated professional throughout her life.

Patricia's educational journey culminated in her graduation from Long Beach High School in 1967. Following her education, she devoted many years to working in administration at Memorial Hospital, where she retired.

A member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Patricia found solace and joy in her faith. Her interests included tending to her beloved garden, where she took pleasure in watching the hummingbirds flit about, bringing life and color to her serene spaces. Her passion for the outdoors often led her on scenic drives, particularly enjoying the beauty of the coastline in her classic 1968 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Convertible.  She looked forward to Cruisin' the Coast every year.

Above all, Patricia cherished her role as a matriarch, deeply enmeshed in the lives of her family. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Robert) Andersen; her son, Brian (Amanda) Slocum; and her grandchildren, Jacob (Mary) Holliman, William (Raegan) Holliman, Braxston Blackwell, Maekayla, Nathan, and Dalton. Her great-grandchildren, AB and Rivers, brought immense joy to her life.

Patricia now joins her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronald Slocum, as well as her parents, Thomas and Muriel Head, and her brother, Thomas C. Head, in eternal rest.
