Oscar “Harris” Ford Jr., 80, of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at the Biloxi VA Hospice Unit on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Biloxi VA Medical Center.
Born in Gulfport, Mississippi, Harris was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. After attending high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserves. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career in construction, retiring as a superintendent with Roy Anderson Construction.
Harris was a man of many talents and interests. He loved fishing, working with computers, and conducting genealogy research. He was a master carpenter and gifted craftsman. Above all, he cherished his family, his friends, and his beloved dog, Reanna, who preceded him in death.
He was a Master Mason with Southern Star Lodge #500 in Long Beach and was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Harris Ford Sr. and Blanche Melton Ford; his son, Oscar Harris Ford III; and his brother, Gerald Ford.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Ford Laird (Jeff); his daughter-in-law, Michelle Ford, widow of Harris Ford; his sisters, Sandra Ann Ford Stepp, Marie Ford, and Sharon Dillard (Danny); his grandchildren, Amanda Boudreaux (Chris), Andrew “AJ” Dendis (Kristen), Jesse Laird (Jess), Brandon Ford, Aiden Ford, and Keira Ford; his great-grandchildren, LillyAnn Dendis, Gabby Dendis, Hamp Dendis, and Piper Boudreaux; his longtime friend and caregiver, Ronda Mullin, whom he loved and regarded as a daughter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and kindness shown during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made in his memory to Southern MS Planning Development District, area agency on aging home delivery meals, 10441 Corporate Drive, Suite 1, Gulfport, MS 39503.
