Orenthial Smith

Orenthial “OJ” James Smith, age 40 of Kiln, MS passed away Sunday August 28,2022.

OJ worked many years with Hancock Water & Sewer and served as an Assistant Fire Chief of the Kiln Volunteer Fire Department.

OJ is preceded in death by his mother, Ethal Mae Smith.

He survives by his fiancée Kristi Aguilar; his children, Bryceson Aguilar, Malia Smith, and Matthew Smith; his father, James Smith; his brother, Reginald Smith (Keisha); and a host of friends he considered family.

OJ will be remembered by the contiguous smile and the community service he served. He loved his kids and everyone knew it. If you caught him on a day off, he would be camping and fishing with his fiancée and kids. OJ will be missed dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Storm Shelter (24075 Hwy 43) in Picayune, MS following a last ride. All Fire departments are invited to join the last ride starting at the Hancock Emergency Operation Center.
