Oren Glen Miller

Oren Glen Miller, age 84 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Friday, July 26, 2013, in Gulfport.
Mr. Miller was born on October 30, 1928, in Grantsville, Maryland. He remained an active community worker in Harrison County throughout his life. He was always willing to serve where ever he was needed, through volunteering and participating in many coastal organizations and services. Among his many activities and interests he served as a Harrison County School Board member, was an active participant with Gideon's International, Kiwanis Club, and organizer and leader of the Coast Bible Conference. He had been a lifetime active member of the Gulfhaven Mennonite Church where he served as elder, speaker, Sunday School teacher and many other church duties
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Lydia Miller; his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Geil Miller; his brothers, Carl Miller and Max Miller of Gulfport, and Claude Miller of New Orleans and a sister, Ruth Stroup of Goshen, Indiana.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Jane Thomas of Marion, SD; his daughters, Shirley Passwater (John) of Gulf Shores, AL and Connie D'Souza (Chris) of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Andrew Passwater, Olivia D'Souza, and Anna D'Souza and one great grandson, Ethan Passwater.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 10:30am at Gulfhaven Mennonite Church, 21497 Mennonite Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Gideon's International, Orange Grove Camp, P.O. Box 2806, Gulfport, MS 39505.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, assisted the family with arrangements.
