Opal Maggard McGuire, age 89, of Gulfport, passed away on April 13, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Maggard, her second husband, Guy McGuire, her parents, Carmen and Maude Butler, and 1 brother, Harold Butler.
Survivors include her children, Jean Leggett, Lynn (George) Sekul, Kenneth Maggard and his fianceÌ, Walee Schwing, Roger (Gwen) Maggard, 1 sister, Nell Martin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a senior companion at the Lyman Senior Center, and she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 10 - 11 am at New Hope Baptist Church, Landon Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
