Onnie Dwayne Owens

Loving father and grandfather, Retired US Air Force, LT COL Onnie Dwayne Owens Jr., age 65, passed away on July 4, 2016. LT COL Owens served as a Special Operations Navigator for the most of his career in the Air Force. In his time of service he received many decorations including: Meritorious Service Medal with 4 devices, Air Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award with 1 device, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Organizational Excellence Award, and Combat Readiness Medal with 1 device.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Onnie Dwayne Owens Sr., and Marie Owens; and 1 daughter, Lori Owens.
He is survived by 1 son, Randy Owens and his wife Kristi; 1 daughter, Kristie Long and her husband Abe; 5 grandchildren, Kailey Owens, Lauren Owens, Julia Owens, James Gransbury, Colton Gransbury; 4 sisters, Kathy Underwood, Sheila Prierot, Lisa Chandler, Judy Burr; and 1 aunt, Patsy Payne.
A celebration of Onnie's life will be held at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base Chapel, 210 Cody Ave. Hurlburt Field, FL on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 3 PM.
