Mr. Ollie Woodrow Franks, Jr., age 60, resident of Biloxi and Leakesville, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Mr. Franks was born in Paducah, KY, and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. Dedicated to his job, he excelled in his profession as a pipefitter and was most recently employed as a superintendent with Bechtel. He was an avid outdoorsman. Those outdoor interests included hunting and fishing. Mr. Franks will be remembered for being a loving, family man and will be missed by all of those that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Ollie Woodrow Franks, Sr., and Sam Gilbert Gilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rosalind Franks of Biloxi and Leakesville; children, Ollie W. ""Woody"" Franks, III of Diamondhead, Velita (and Otto) Bourgeois of Bay St. Louis, Cole (and Toi) Franks of Biloxi, Travis Franks of Biloxi; mother, Maxine Franks Gilson of Biloxi; siblings, Brenda Bond of Long Beach, Eva Robinson of Gulfport, Margie Ladner of Diamondhead, Debbie Albert of Gulfport, and Nickie Franks of D'Iberville; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m.
