MSgt Oliver Miles “Mike” Parker, USAF, Ret, age 90 of McHenry, passed away on July 22, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miles Samuel Parker; his mother, Exie Pitts Parker; a brother, Samuel Lawrence Parker; and an infant sister, Mary Vernie Parker.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sterling Louise Parker; his children, Oliver Miles “Lil Mike” Thomas, Jr (Julie Shallert Thomas) Sue Ellen Carlson (Bill), Ann Taylor, Lisa Barras, Timothy Thomas, Sharon Stuckey (Scott), and Michelle Parker Dedeaux (Eric); his siblings, James Earl “Jim” Parker, Cecil Alton Parker, Gloria Von Axelson, Vonnie Merle Brown, Doris Rogers, and Mona White.
his grandchildren, Danielle Mohler, Heather Flint, Brandon Thomas, Lacey Camden, Dylan Thomas, Michael Thomas, Devin Thomas, John Dragoo, Jr, Blake Dragoo, Sara Dragoo, Gina Sniff, Ron Sniff, Miles Barras, Brianna Barras, Rande Barras, Ann Rene Lamey, Josh Lamey, Rueben Taylor, Danielle Taylor, Cory Dedeaux (Shelby), Connor Dedeaux, and Erica Dedeaux; 21 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Parker was a native of Holt, FL and has been a longtime resident of McHenry. He served honorably for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War. After retirement from the Air Force, he had a distinguished career as a food inspector with Civil Service.
He loved cooking, hunting, fishing, planting his garden, going to the casinos and eating, having fun with his family, and watching football on Sunday’s.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 11 am - 1 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
