Retired Master Sargent, Oliver Chester "Chet" Arnold, Jr., age 81 of Biloxi, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Oliver Chester Arnold, Sr. and Louise Birgton.
He served in the United States Air Force and received the Bronze Star for his tour in Vietnam. He was retired from the Civil Service and was a member of Elks 601, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the VFW.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Chester Arnold, Sr., and Louise Birgton; and son, Bobby Arnold.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jernigan Arnold, daughter; Debbie Arnold of Mobile, stepson; Mathew Todd Jernigan of Mobile; granddaughters, Katie and Samatha Jernigan; grandson, Drew of Mobile; and great granddaughter, Emi.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
