Olen Dirickson Plato, Jr., affectionately known as Steven Olen Plato, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on July 25, 1959, and a native of El Reno, Oklahoma, Steven lived a life marked by dedication and heartfelt connections. He attended El Reno High School, he made Saucier, Mississippi his home for many years.

Steven was employed by MC VanKampen Trucking in Michigan, where he was valued for his commitment and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, he carried a passion for NASCAR, an interest that brought him great joy and showed his lively spirit.

His journey through life was shared with beloved family and friends. Steven was preceded in death by his spouse, Denise Plato; his parents, Olen Dirickson Plato, Sr., and Ava L. Plato; as well as his siblings, David Allen Plato, Jeffery David Miller, Donalda Rae Plato Bowie, Ramond Eugene Plato, and his sister-in-law, Brenda Roberson Plato. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving siblings Terry Miller and his wife Carol Ann of Wichita, Kansas; Michael Miller, also of Wichita, Kansas; Laural Ann Plato Norred of Texas; Tommy Plato of Calumet, Oklahoma; Marcus Plato and his wife Deborah of El Reno, Oklahoma; Ronald Plato of El Reno, Oklahoma; and his sister-in-law Song Miller of Tumwater, Washington. Also survived by his ex-wife Anita Plato. These family members carry forward his legacy of kindness and resilience.

Steven will be remembered as a dedicated professional, a devoted family man, and a passionate NASCAR enthusiast. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
