Odis Carlton Simmons

Mr. Odis Carlton Simmons, age 85, of Pass Christian, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
Mr. Simmons was born in Gaskin, FL to David and Minnie Simpler Simmons. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired after 20 years of service. He resided in Long Beach most of his life where he was a real estate broker. He was a longtime member of the Long Beach Church of Christ and current member of Bay St. Louis Church of Christ. He enjoyed making golf clubs and was a member of Pass Christian Isles Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bette Martindale Simmons; his parents; three brothers, Ben, Curtis, and Palmer Simmons; sister, Lily Davis
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Simmons of Pass Christian; children, Debbie Mott of Pass Christian, Faye Edwards (Fred) of Jonesboro, AR, and Susan Bailey (Kenneth) of Pass Christian; siblings, Mildred E. Wall of Minden, LA and David Simmons of Pensacola, FL; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; niece, Otelia Laird of Huntsville, AL, and numerous other nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach, from 12 o'clock Noon until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
