Obert Thomas Knutson Jr. 84 of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Gulfport, Mississippi.

He is resting in Jesus' arms for eternity.

Obie was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn (Berg) Knutson and Obert Knutson Sr; and two sisters, Shirley Johnson and Marion Olson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Inez (Kitti) Knutson; a son from a previous marriage, Kurt and was the main influence of the six children of Inez:  Jeff and Sanda Mynatt, Benny and Teresa Mynatt, Robert Jackson, Kathy Creger, Delana Jackson, Brian and Amie Parker, with multiple grandchildren, great children, nieces, and nephews.

Obie was a retired veteran of 32 years in the US Military, during which he received many awards and citations.

He was a faithful member of Bible Baptist church of Gulfport, Mississippi since 1995. He worked at the Christian school as a janitor after retiring.

Obie loved to help others; he spent several years with Kitti in The Baptist Bible Builders Ministries and one year in Ecuador overseeing Cliff McGee's building I meet projects.

He leaves behind many friends, family members and acquaintances to cherish his memories.

Services with Pastor Mike Spann will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church, 12200 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, Mississippi. 39503 with visitation beginning at 10:30 am.
