Mr. Archer was a native of Picayune and was a long time resident of Kiln. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He held many different jobs throughout his life, including construction and truck driving, but his favorite role was operating heavy equipment. Though he was forced into retirement earlier than he wished due to health conditions, he carried with him a deep pride in the work he accomplished and in the skills he was able to pass on to others.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church, fishing, hunting, horse riding, and watching western and war movies. He was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church.
Norman wanted to be remembered for his hard work, honesty, kindness, and for being a devoted Christian and family man. He was someone who could always be counted on, was known as the best secret keeper, and gave the best advice. His greatest legacy is the love he shared, the faith he lived by, and the values hi instilled in those who were blessed to know him.
The family would like to invite everyone to Wolf Creek Baptist Church after the graveside service for a time of fellowship and food. Donations of food may be brought to the church.
