Norma Williams Bond

November 16, 1936 — May 19, 2025

Long Beach, MS

Norma "Vernell" Williams Bond, a beloved member of the Long Beach community, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 16, 1936, in Gulfport, MS, Norma lived a life rich in experiences and cherished relationships.

As a matriarch, Norma's love for her family was unwavering. She is survived by her children, Preston Bond (Imeldia), Jo Ann Bond, and Linda Smith (Darvin), who carry on her legacy with warmth and devotion. Norma was also a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Westley Watts, Amber Allen (Lance), Matthew Triana, Elisha Jo Woodcock, and Joseph Woodcock (Samantha). She reveled in the joy of her great-grandchildren, including Courtney Wright (William), Kyleigh, Kinsey, and Kane Allen, Joseph Scott Woodcock III, Bryce Woodcock, Kalysta Woodcock, Katelyn Myers, Tyler Myers (Emily), Aubren Triana, and Cameron Lanning. Most recently, she embraced the role of great-great-grandmother to Brady Wright, Elizabeth, and Nevaeh Myers, who brought her immense joy.

Norma's life was characterized by simple pleasures and cherished hobbies. She found joy in putting together and gifting puzzles, enjoyed word searches, loved sitting on her porch, and had countless delightful conversations over the phone.   Recently, she loved her new tablet that she recently learned how to use.  Above all, her favorite pastime was cooking and hosting family and friends, creating memories around the table that defined her nurturing spirit.

In a life filled with admiration and laughter, one of Norma's proudest accomplishments was being the ultimate "passenger princess," as she never drove throughout her life.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Neila Necaise Williams and John Dewey Williams; brothers, James Russell Williams, Benny Jack Williams and John Dewey "JD" Williams, and her daughter, Norma Lee Snyder. These family members hold a treasured place in the hearts of those who survive her.

Visitation services will be held on May 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home in Long Beach, MS, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with her nephew, Michael Angus officiating. Norma will be laid to rest at Allen Cemetery afterward.
