Nick leaves his mother Meg Martin of Long Beach; his father Steven Martin of Hot Springs, AR; his aunt and honorary granny Brenda Chapman of Long Beach; and a large extended family scattered across Tennessee, Florida, Maine, and Texas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a half-brother Derek Martin.
He was born in Memphis, TN where he lived until he was 11. After a short stay in Tahlequah, OK he and his mother settled in Long Beach where Nick soon felt right at home. Nick attended Long Beach Middle and High Schools.
Nick belonged to the Long Beach Church of Christ. From the first time he attended this church, he was home. He loved singing and often volunteered to lead a song. He loved going to fellowships and visiting with his church family. If the church was meeting, he wanted to be there.
Nick had many challenges and struggles in his young life, but he found joy all around him. He loved his home, his family, his church, too many celebrities to name, the local libraries in Long Beach and Pass Christian, pet-sitting Chloe, going to the movies, eating out, and Starbucks. But mostly he loved just being with people.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Long Beach Church of Christ., 200 North Cleveland Ave. in Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Nicholas' memory.
