Nerissa Legaspi Camposagrado, age 61, a native of Imus, Cavite, Philippines, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 in Gulfport, MS.
Mrs. Camposagrado is preceded in death by her parents Ireneo G. and Concepcion S. Legaspi and her sister Corazon L. Torres.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rene Camposagrado; her daughter, Irene L. Camposagrado; her son, Gabriel R. (Jessica) Camposagrado; her sisters, Florinda L. (Rodrigo) Victa, Florminia L. (Rogelio) Prejoles, Purisima L. (Romeo-deceased) Velasco, Gloria L. (Ernesto) Sarinas, Nenita L. (Jesus-deceased) Valerio, Abbelane L. (Manolo) Mempin, Elizabeth L. (Apolinario) Reyes; her brothers, Edward S. (Rowena) Legaspi and Ernie S. (Edith) Legaspi; her brother in law, Eddie Torres; and her grandson, Joseph G. ""Joey"" Camposagrado.
Mrs. Camposagrado is a 1965 graduate of Medicion Elemetery School; a 1969 graduate of Imus Institute High School; and a 1973 graduate of the University of East Manila with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She was a professional photographer and she managed her family's portrait studio in the Philippines from 1972 to 1976. She worked for the Navy Exchange at various location around the world; US Naval Station Rota, Spain 1980-1983; Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport, MS 1985-1990; US Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba 1990-1992; and for the Defense Commissary Agency DeCA, Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, MS.
Nerissa was always smiling and like to put people at ease; no matter what she was wearing that day she always looked beautiful and elegant; she was a terrific cook and loved to travel especially to Europe and her favorite place Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Chad Riemann and his staff for treating us like one of the family; Canon Hospice in Gulfport who were very caring to Nerissa and to Fr. John McBrearty of St. Therese Catholic Church in Gulfport.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at an earlier date at St. Therese Catholic Church and entombment was at Biloxi National Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport served the family.
