Nell Renwick Williams

Nell R Williams, age 102, currently of Long Beach MS, formerly of Monroe, LA, passed away peacefully January 8, 2025.  

She was born on July 20, 1922 and lived a life full of love for her family, a passion for gardening, and a special fondness for the color blue. 

 Known affectionately as “Noni” to her family and friends, she was deeply loved and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and the joy she brought to everyone she knew. Noni’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who will cherish the memories of her gentle spirit and caring nature. 

 She was predeceased by two of her daughters, Dianne E. Rowsey and Wendy O. Willams. 

 She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and David Marks; grandsons, Brad Jordan (Marla), Brice Marks (Lindsay), Bryan Marks, and granddaughter, Melissa Rowsey; great-grandchildren, Lauren Jordan, Nathan Jones, Rosina Nell “Rosie” Marks, and Elizabeth Hayes “Betsy” Marks; and a special niece which she considered a daughter, Donna King Platt. 

 She worked in the Savings & Loan business in Monroe for over 25 years after being the society editor for the Monroe Newstar and owner of a children’s dress shoppe, Candy Cane. 

 The family would like to extend their gratitude to Elite Home Care for the extraordinary care they provided Noni in the last several months. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made in Nell’s memory to Batman’s LBMS, Long Beach Police Department, Attn: Quentin Denney,201 Alexander Road, Long Beach MS 39560 (you know how much Noni loved her animals!) 

 Rest in peace Noni. You will always be in our hearts. 

 Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2 – 3 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A prayer service will be held at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel.
