Naomi E. Patton

Naomi Hibbard Patton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Naomi was born on March 21, 1938, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to James Etna and Evelyn Hibbard. She attended school in DeWitt, Arkansas, and later attended Phillips Business College in Oklahoma.

Naomi was a devoted and hardworking woman who retired after an extraordinary 40-year career with Struthers Industries. Her dedication extended far beyond her professional life. She gave generously of her time, her faith, and herself to her family, her church, and her community.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Naomi was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Over the years, she served her parish as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Altar Society, and volunteered in the church office. Her faith was an important part of who she was and was reflected in the way she lived her life and cared for those around her.

Above all else, Naomi treasured her family. She shared her life with her beloved husband, Kermit J. Patton, and together they built a family that became her greatest joy. To her daughters, she was Mom—the woman whose love, strength, faith, and example helped shape their lives. As the years passed and the family grew, she embraced each new generation with the same love. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart.

Naomi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kermit J. Patton; her parents, James Etna and Evelyn Hibbard; her mother- and father-in-law, Walter and Mary Patton; brothers-in-law, Robert Arnold Patton, Mark Reid, and Rob Blickensderfer; sister-in-law, Anita Hibbard; and nephew, Chris Hibbard.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri Patton, Patti (Ronnie) Cuevas, and Lynn Upchurch; her brother, Charles (Janelle) Hibbard; her sister, Susie Reid Blickensderfer; and her nephews, Greg Hibbard and family, Mitch Hibbard, Kyle Hibbard, Eric Reid, and Jason Reid.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Abbi (Bo) Roberson, Laci (Josh) Threadgill, Chance (Ashley) Tillman, Tallin Tillman Woodcock, Mary (Cary) Scarborough, and Matthew Hall; and her 17 beloved great-grandchildren: Braxton, Lexi, and Magnolia Roberson; Levi, Luke, and Lyla Cate Threadgill; Patton, Baylor, Abel, Brody, and Piper Tillman; Joseph Suarez, Brayton, Leo, and Nico Woodcock; and Trace and Brooks Scarborough.

Naomi leaves behind a beautiful legacy—not measured simply in the years she lived, but in the family she loved, the faith she practiced, the work she faithfully performed, and the countless ways she quietly gave of herself to others. Her family will miss her presence beyond words, but they will carry her love, her lessons, and her memory with them always.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, Mississippi 39501. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul ministry at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

May she rest in the peace of Christ and be reunited with those she loved who went before her.
