In Loving Memory of Naomi Dedeaux Herren December 27, 1929 – September 7, 2025

Naomi Dedeaux Herren, age 95, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of the Orange Grove Community, Naomi was born to the late Loren and Cora Dedeaux. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Whether tending to her home, her land, or her cattle, horses and other animals, Naomi gave her best in all things. She was an excellent cook—though she never admitted it—and found joy in preparing meals for her family. A faithful member of the Gulf Coast Seventh-day Adventist Church in Woolmarket. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and devoted woman whose love touched everyone who knew her.

Naomi was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Millie Dianne Newman; her husband, Ralph Herren; her former husband, Larry G. Newman; and her siblings, Nary, Jack, Curtis, Glenn (Ray), and Warren (Ike) Dedeaux, Alma Long, Doris Hebe, and Mildred Stewart.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Eddie Loren Newman (Vanessa); her grandchildren, Kelli N. Newman and Wesley L. Newman (Madalyn); and her great-grandchildren, Everett and Dwight Newman. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Jeff Herren, Phillip Herren, Pam Kitchens (Kent), and Brenda Davis Sanders (Bob); along with step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

In honor of Naomi’s giving spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to children’s cancer research through the following organizations: Alex's Lemonade Stand https://www.alexslemonade.org/contribute or The St. Baldrick's Foundation https://www.stbaldricks.org/donate.

Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is honored to serve the Herren family.
