Nancy Jane Soder, age 88 of Biloxi, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
She was born on November 14, 1937, in Miamisburg, OH, to Elmer and Ruby Hartzell. Nancy worked as head librarian the D’Iberville Library for 21 years. She loved her co-workers and her patrons. After retirement, Nancy enjoyed driving to Ohio and spending time with her best friends. Her favorite time was with family, Sunday dinners and celebrating birthdays. She was stubborn, feisty, loving and was always giving and nurturing to all she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruby Hartzell; her husband, Ronald Lee Soder; her daughter, Sharon Jane Parke and her siblings, Robert Hartzell, Lowell Hartzell, Jean Wolffe and Shirley Gephart.
Nancy is survived by her children, Jerold Soder, Jeffrey (Lisa) Soder, James (Andrea) Soder and Sabrina (Daivd Strickland) Martin; her son-in-law, Rick Parke; her grandchildren, Christopher Chace, Jamie Chace, Andrew Weissert, Tanner Parke, Jacob (Abby) Soder, Amanda Soder, Janelle Soder, Joclyn (Kyra) Martin, Cory Martin and Lindsey (Chris) Newton; and her great grandchildren, Valerie Newton, Emberleigh Newton and Wesleigh Newton.
Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm.
