Nancy June Pannell

Nancy June Pannell (85), surrounded by family, passed from this life into the arms of her Savior in the early hours of May 21, 2025, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Nancy was born on August 19, 1939 in Gulfport, Mississippi, to the late Ralph and Sadie Hammons Miller. She met and married Stanley Pannell when he was serving at Keesler Air Force Base. When Stanley left the military, they returned to Gulfport to raise their sons. Nancy spent her time working at the school and caring for her family.

Nancy played the organ at Pass Road Baptist Church for many years. Later, she played for small churches in Gulfport and Long Beach. She loved serving the Lord through the gift of music. Nancy also loved to travel with her family.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, Stanley Pannell and her parents, Ralph and Sadie Miller. She is survived by her sons, Brian Pannell (Teresa) of Orlando, Florida and Ronnie Pannell (Jennifer) of Richland, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Ashlee Harris (Scott) of Orlando, Florida, Douglas Pannell (Mallory) of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Lora Beth Pannell, James Pannell, and Daniel Pannell, all of Richland, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Pannell, Savannah Harris, Lilly Pannell, and Audrey Harris; sister Patty McKinley (Charlie) of Gulfport, Mississippi; nieces, Allison McKinley, Bianca McKinley, and Eva Kuyrkendall.

A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
