Nancy Jo Lyons

Nancy Jo Lyons, lovingly known as Jo, passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 86.

Jo grew up in Vancleave, Mississippi, and graduated from Vancleave High School in 1959. During her junior year, she was voted Jolliest junior, a fitting honor for someone who was known throughout her life for her happy spirit and joyful personality.

Jo worked hard throughout her life, whether at Godchaux’s Department Store or delivering medical supplies. Even so, Jo’s life revolved around her family. She shared a very close and loving bond with her brothers and sisters, and the love they had for one another remained strong throughout the years. Although Jo never had any children, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. They held a very special place in her heart, and she cherished the time and memories she shared with them.

Jo was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Wallene Lyons; her brothers, Denver Dale Lyons and David Ware Lyons; her sister, Robbie Arlene Goff; her niece, Carrie Suzette Saucier; her nephew, Kenneth Jason Lyons; and her great-nephew, Taylor Lyons.

She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Jeanette Guldensupp, Linda Gail Taranto, and Carrie Sue Saucier, along with her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces and extended family members. Jo’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.

Celebration of Jo's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
