MSgt. Harry D. ""Smitty"" Smith, U. S. Air Force, retired, age 79 and a resident of Biloxi passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Mr. Smith retired after 20 years service from the U. S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He then worked for 20 years in Nonappropriated Funds (NAF), and at Naval Station Pascagoula for 10 years, totaling over 50 years of honorable federal service.
He was an avid golfer, known for having a golf cart that looked like a Rolls Royce. ""Smitty"" had a great sense of humor and was a good friend to many people. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Abbot Smith, Sr. and Florence Smith Noblin; and his brothers, Abbot Smith, Jr., Jack Smith, and Raymond Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Earlene Smith of Biloxi; son, Michael E. Smith and his wife Kathy of Ocean Springs; granddaughter, Valerie Smith of Birmingham, AL; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite cat, Bubba.
