Minnie V. Weaver

Minnie V. (Houtz) Weaver (95), born on January 24, 1930, passed away on November 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Sarah Houtz, and her brother and his wife George and Dot Houtz.

Minnie is survived by her children Butch Weaver (Peggy) of Biloxi, Sharon Roberts (Jim) of Gulfport, and Al Weaver (Cindi) of Long Beach. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brent Cooper, Blake Weaver (Erina), Michael McKinney and Annie (Weaver) Gomila (Brock) and great-grandchildren Baylor Gomila, Banks Gomila and Kourtlynn Weaver.

She was very active in the PTA for her children’s school, serving in many positions, including president. She loved following her children in sports, whether it was following Al and Butch in sports or Sharon in cheerleading, she never missed a game. After her children grew up, she took up golf and was a member of Bayou View, Broadwater, and Pass Christian golf clubs. One of her favorite memories was being selected as Queen of Mardi Gras for the Gulfport Elks.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 29th at 11 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Greenbriar Nursing Center and Vital Care Hospice.
