Millicent Donovan Charbonnet, affectionately known as ""Peaches"" passed away peacefully at her home on September 25, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. She was 71.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Louis Sidney (Sid) Charbonnet, III, parents James W. Cleverdon and Mary Beth Cleverdon Donovan, step-father John C. Donovan Sr., and brothers John C. Donovan, Jr. and Stephen B. Donovan.
She is survived by her children Mona Charbonnet Musser (John H., V), L. Sidney (Sid) Charbonnet, IV (Margaret ""Boo"" Christy), Elizabeth Charbonnet Talmadge (J. Daniel, Jr. ""Dan""), and Millicent D. Charbonnet; grandchildren John, Byrne and Donovan Musser, Christy, Sidney and Mary Lucy Charbonnet, Harper, Elizabeth, Helen, Millicent and Joseph Talmadge; twin sister Elizabeth D. Whibbs; brothers Fred C. Donovan, Sr., Timothy J. Donovan, Martin J. Donovan; all of their spouses, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Millicent was a graduate of Pensacola Catholic High School and Spring Hill College, where she met her husband Sid. As a young wife and mother in New Orleans, she started her own antiques business on Magazine St. that eventually became Charbonnet & Charbonnet- one of the largest stores of its kind in New Orleans, which specialized in country pine antiques and custom built furniture made from Louisiana cypress. She was in business for 35 years before retiring with her husband to their home in Pass Christian, MS.
""Peaches"" was an energetic and optimistic person whose zest for life was infectious. She and her husband truly enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. Millicent went out of her way to make others feel welcome. She was a member of the Orléans Club, and the Pass Christian Yacht Club. She loved to travel and enjoyed having new experiences. Millicent lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by those that loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Fr. Mike Austin, will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Pass Christian, MS. with a visitation for family and friends from 11:30 AM until the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Pass Christian.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of ""Peaches"" to St. Jude's Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
