Mildred Hinson passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She will be remembered for the love and devotion she shared with those closest to her, her strong faith, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

Mildred retired from the VA after many years of service and was a faithful member of Woolmarket Baptist Church. Her faith and family were at the heart of her life, and the love, memories, and values she shared will continue to live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Hinson; her son, Steve Hinson; and her siblings, Dorothy and Tommy Kinard.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Cindy) Hinson; her grandchildren, Michelle (Dirk), Jeremy, Brooklyn, Katelyn, Payton Hinson, Jaimie (Taylor) Lane, Destanie (Chris) Anderson, Alyssa (Daniel) Craven, Aliviah Spann, and Tiffany (Jerome) Barkum; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Hinson, Elliot Besancon, and Emreigh Craven.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Mildred's dear friend and caregiver, Ethel Barnett, as well as the compassionate staff of Hospice of Light, including nurses Patrick, Sharon, and Britney, for the exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to Mildred and her family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, starting at 9:00, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, Mississippi. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
