Mildred Bass Fayard, age 86, of Long Beach, passed away on December 2, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Godfrey ""Gopher"" Fayard, Sr., her parents, Eli and Inez Bass, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Fayard, and an infant brother, Eli Bass, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Godfrey ""Gopher"" Fayard, Jr. and Peggy (Terry) Small, 3 grandchildren, Anthony Small, Terry Small, Jr., and Annell Bahm, 5 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan, Abigail, Rachael, and Skylar, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Fayard was a lifelong resident of the coast and retired as a warehouse manager at the SeaBee Base. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a faithful volunteer for many years at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. She and her husband spent many years camping and traveling all over the country.
Visitation will be on Monday, Decem1ber 7, 2015, from 10 am - 12 noon at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in the church. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
