Michael Edward Sherman Sr.,age 61, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away on May 20, 2019.
Michael was born at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, on February 18, 1958, to John and Shirley Sherman. Following graduation from Bradford High School in Starke, Florida, Michael received an Associate Degree from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1982. He earned his certification as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2014. Michael enjoyed a long and successful career of 37 years as a Physical Therapist.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Sherman; his father-in-law, Frank Campbell; his niece, Jennifer Sherman; and his Australian nephew, Ben Hartwig.
Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Ann Campbell Sherman; his children, Michael Edward Sherman Jr. and Mary Helen Sherman; his father and step-mother, John and Claudette Sherman; brothers, Larry Sherman (Wendy) and Jeff Sherman; nephews, Chris Sherman (Keri) and Matthew Sherman; great nephew, Caden Sherman; his mother-in-law, Jimmie Burks Campbell; sisters-in-law, Peggy Sue Campbell (Gene) Barnette and Sara Jane Campbell; his Australian family, Beth Muirhead, Amy Muirhead and Sam Hartwig.
Visitation will be at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian, Mississippi on May 24, 2019 from 5:00-6:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 6:00pm.
Visitation will be at Sanderson Chapel United Methodist Church, Hatton, Alabama on May 26, 2019 from 4:00-5:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 5:00pm. Interment will be at Old Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael Edward Sherman, Sr. Memorial Fund, payable to Family Security Credit Union or Peggy Sue Barnette for the Michael Edward Sherman, Sr. Memorial Fund, 11400 Alabama Highway 157, Moulton, Alabama 35650.
