Michael Louis Schutzmann

Michael Louis Schutzmann, 37, passed away March 8, 2013. Mike was born at Gulfport Memorial Hospital and grew up in Long Beach, where he attended St. Thomas Elementary and graduated from Long Beach High in 1993. Mike received a BS in Computer Science from Loyola University and held various programming jobs, most recently with the Housing Authority of New Orleans.
A true free spirit, Mike loved New Orleans and embraced everything about it. (A brief move to Tampa confirmed his desire to call New Orleans home.) Mike cherished spending time with his large circle of friends, whom he fondly referred to as his ""krewe.""
He enjoyed playing guitar, watching live music, and shooting pool.
The youngest of 7, Mike was an energetic child who loved playing baseball and roaming the neighborhood.
We will miss his smile, wit, and intellect. You knew that, if Mike were in the room, you were going to laugh. He never hesitated to make his opinion known (no matter how controversial!) Rest in
Michael is survived by his parents, Roy and Carol Schutzmann, of Long Beach; sisters Karen Welborn (Ken) of Stamford, CT, and Katherine Biggs (Tom) of Houston, TX; brothers Karl Schutzmann (Pamela) of Pensacola Beach, FL, Kurt Schutzmann (Cecille) of San Francisco, CA,
Eric Schutzmann (Sunny) of New Orleans, LA, and Roy Schutzmann (Kellie) of Dallas, TX; nieces and nephews: Kenny, Joy, Katherine, Olivia, Jonathan, Zachary, Lydia, Ryan, Morgan, Joshua, Jessica, Gabriel, and Rileigh; and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation for friends will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at RIEMANN
FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church
in Long Beach, MS. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
