Ocean Springs

Obituary

Michael “Mike” Joseph Sullivan, age 71 of Ocean Springs, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Leota Sullivan.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Andera Sullivan; his grandchildren, Cody Sullivan and Sierra Sullivan; his sisters, Terry and Vicky; his brother, Patrick Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Indiana, Mike graduated from high school before moving to Texas, where he earned his associate degree from Texas A&M University. After college, he returned to Indiana and obtained his wastewater management license.

Mike met the love of his life, Andera, and the two shared 50 wonderful years together. In 2005, they moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where they made their home and, unfortunately, experienced the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Mike had many interests and hobbies that brought him joy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing online spades. He also loved collecting baseball cards, comic books, and coins. He found great pleasure in working in his garden, especially tending to his roses. During their time in Texas, Mike and Andera enjoyed a huge peach tree that produced the juiciest peaches, creating many wonderful memories together.

Above all, Mike cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and treasured every moment they shared. He had a passion for photography and was always ready to capture family memories, often insisting that everyone stop for a picture with him. He also loved recording family moments with his old camcorder, leaving behind many treasured videos that will help keep those memories alive.

Mike was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
