Michael Jerome McClain

Michael Jerome McClain of Long Beach, MS, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the age of 79.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome E. McClain and Helen Shoff McClain, sister, Karen E. McClain and son, Kevin Michael McClain.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Penny McClain; children, Suzanne Johnson (Daryl Tucker), Tyson McClain, Sharri Reed (Mike), Shelly Martin (John), Mindy Whitten (David); grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Kevin Clark, Bella McClain, Trace Reed, Chelsey LaFramboise (Justin), Ashton Whitten, Madison Whitten, Makenzy Whitten; great grandchildren, Kenleigh Clark, Reese Clark, Mia Clark, Julianne Shavers, Ella Warren, Violet LaFramboise, Thatcher LaFramboise; and his beloved fur baby, Tinker.

Michael is a veteran of the United States Air Force, served as an air traffic controller, and received the America Spirit of Honor Medal. He loved talking, camping, canoeing, photography, and most of all, spending time with his loving wife and Tinker, whom he affectionately called “his girls”. Michael was known for his witty personality and infectious smile.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bassom Baroudi and his PA, Jessica Blair; and Shane Everett, Admissions Coordinator with Kare in Home Hospice, for their love and care.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, 19130 Commission Road, from 5:00 pm until the funeral service with Air Force Military Honors at 7:00pm.
