Michael Joseph McCann

Michael Joseph McCann, 77 of Diamondhead, MS passed away on February 9, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.   He was born on February 22, 1946 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph & Olga McCann.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis McCann; and aunt, Helen Bila.

Michael served in the United States Air Force as a Medic and EMT. After his military career, he came back to New Orleans and joined the Fire Academy.  Upon completion of the Fire Academy, he took a position with the New Orleans Fire Department where he retired after 25 years of service.  During his retirement, Michael enjoyed taking trips and traveling.  He especially loved taking cruises and his trips to the casino.  He was a proud and honorable man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Christine McCann.  Michael also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, Firefighters, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Pass Christian  (9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571). A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Riemann Funeral Home, Pass Christian with entombment and Military Honors to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
