Michael James Cuevas, age 65, of Long Beach, passed away on June 29, 2013.
Mr. Cuevas was born in Bay St. Louis, MS, to Arvis and Leontine Moran Cuevas. He worked as a loyal employee at the VA Medical Center for 34 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a faithful supporter and contributor of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital where he made regular donations. He enjoyed family outings, going out to eat, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Cuevas, and his parents, Arvis and Leotine Cuevas.
He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Lois Ann (David) Nobles, Lisa Ann (Richard Alan) Woodfield; and his seven grandchildren, Kim (Josh) Davis, Ricky Woodfield, Amanda Woodfield, Josh Woodfield, Ally Wittmann, Kaleigh Wittmann, and Brody Nobles.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial followed at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
