Michael Charles Carpenter, July 26, 1949 - July 29, 2026

Ocean Springs, Mississippi - Mike Carpenter, Ocean Springs, MS, age 77, passed away on July 29, 2026, peacefully, with the sounds of hymns and prayers in the air from his family who were at his bedside.

Mike served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. His service included a deployment to support the Vietnam War. Mike retired as a Master Sergeant serving as an instructor of Airborne Communications. He later retired from Stennis Space Center, where he repaired communications equipment for more than 29 years. He enjoyed reading, playing cards with family, and he was an avid computer gamer. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Gail Carpenter; his parents, Everett Carpenter and Mabel and Roger Charbonneau. He is survived by his children, Sean M. Carpenter (spouse Kim), Louisville, KY; April K. Carpenter, Lake Elsinore, CA; J. Scott Dixon (spouse Conny), Phoenix, AZ; Sandi L. Dominey, Phoenix, AZ; Darci M. Gilreath, Monticello, GA; and 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Marla, Jeff, and Gina, Pahrump, NV, and Myra, Las Vegas, NV, as well as extended family members and friends.

At Mike’s request, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Mike would prefer that you donate to your local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Chapter.
