Michael D. Bonney

Mike lost his brief battle with cancer at home with his family on February 15.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmore Joseph Bonney and Norma Farragut Bonney Cantrell.
He leaves his wife of more than 50 years, Linda Ray Bonney; daughter, Traci; sons, Jeffrey (Fannoula) and Robert; grandchildren, Stephen Bonney, Alivia Bonney Reno (Kevin), Kayla, Johnny and Lizzy Bonney; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Ethan, Kara, Dante and Zachary. He is also survived by brother, Henry (Pat) and sisters, Patricia Lee (Lavelle), Mary Moran (Dale), and Beverly Parker (Walter).
A graduate of Pass Christian High School, he received his bachelor and master degrees from Mississippi State University. After retiring from a career in education that spanned more than two decades and included positions in teaching, coaching, driver's education and school administration, he worked in the local casino industry for more than a decade.
He was an enthusiastic golfer and longtime member of the Pass Christian Isles Golf Club. He was also an avid sports fan, especially of the MSU Bulldogs, the Saints and the Braves. He greatly enjoyed watching games on the back porch of his home with family and friends, as well as presiding over the grill at family cookouts and birthday gatherings.
Visitation is at 11 am today (February 17), followed by a memorial service at noon, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach.
