Melvin “Leo” Shehorn, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 11, 1940, Leo spent the majority of his life working as a skilled millwright, welder, fabricator and mechanic, earning the admiration of co-workers and the respect of all who knew him.

Leo’s life was defined by his unwavering dedication to family, his strong work ethic, and his deep passion for riding motorcycles—especially his cherished Harley-Davidson. Whether cruising the open roads or tinkering in the garage, Leo found joy and freedom in every ride.

He is survived by his children: daughters Kelli Hammet and Kimberly Shehorn, and son Lee Shehorn. He also leaves behind his sister Margaret Marasco, niece Tonya Harrell, and nephews Todd Rich and Jimmy Shehorn.

Leo was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, free spirit, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A private service will be held in his honor.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
